I’ve purchased Mopeka Pro Check-Water and Pro Check-Sensor LPG sensors for my tank monitoring needs. Could you provide a step-by-step guide on installing and configuring these sensors with my GX device?

Installing and integrating Mopeka Pro sensors with your GX device involves a few steps:

    1. Initial Sensor Setup: Begin by installing the Mopeka Pro sensor on your tank following the instructions provided by Mopeka, which typically includes positioning and securing the sensor properly on the tank. Configure the sensor using the Mopeka Tank app, which is available for both Android and iOS devices. This step ensures the sensor is calibrated and ready to transmit data.
    2. Enabling Bluetooth on GX Device: Verify that Bluetooth is active on your GX device. It is usually enabled by default, but you can check this in the Bluetooth sensors menu.
    3. Accessing Bluetooth Settings: Navigate to the ‘Settings → I/O → Bluetooth sensors menu’ on your GX device. This is where you’ll manage the connection to your sensors.
    4. Activating Bluetooth Sensors: Within the Bluetooth sensors menu, you’ll find an ‘Enable’ slider. Slide it to the right to turn on Bluetooth sensor functionality.
    5. Pairing Mopeka Pro Sensors: Scroll through the list of available devices until you find your Mopeka Pro sensors listed. Activate each sensor by moving its corresponding slider to the right, which should add the sensor to the Device List.
    6. Confirming Sensor Connectivity: After activation, the sensors should appear in the Device List with their status, allowing you to monitor tank levels directly from your GX device interface.
    7. Repeat for Multiple Sensors: If you have more than one Mopeka Pro sensor, repeat these steps for each unit to ensure all sensors are connected and configured properly.

By carefully following these steps, you will be able to successfully monitor the fluid levels in your tanks using the Mopeka Pro sensors connected to your GX device.

You can configure your Mopeka Pro Check sensors with a GX device running VenusOS, following this process:

    1. Accessing Device List: Navigate to the Device List menu on your GX device to start the sensor setup. In the ‘Device List’ of your GX device, select your Mopeka Pro sensor to view the current status, level, temperature, and battery voltage. Find and select your Mopeka Pro sensor from the list to configure it. Use the interface keys to enter the sensor’s Setup menu, where you can adjust its settings.
    2. Setup Sensor Capacity and Calibration: In the sensor’s ‘Setup’ menu, input the tank’s capacity, and provide the sensor value for when the tank is empty and full to calibrate the sensor’s readings for accuracy.
    3. Select Fluid Type and Volume Unit: Choose the type of fluid the sensor is monitoring (e.g., gasoline, fresh water, LPG) and the unit of measurement for volume (e.g., cubic meters, liters, gallons).
    4. Customize Device Settings: Assign a custom name to your sensor in the ‘Device’ settings for easy identification. This is particularly helpful when monitoring multiple tanks.
    5. Repeat Configuration for Additional Sensors: If you have more than one Mopeka Pro sensor, repeat these configuration steps for each sensor to ensure all devices are set up correctly.

Your Mopeka Pro Check sensors should now be fully integrated into your GX device’s monitoring system, providing reliable data on your tank levels.

Once your Mopeka Pro sensors are configured with your GX device, you have multiple options for monitoring the tank levels within the GX environment:

    • Device List: Check the current status and levels of your tanks directly from the main device list on your GX device.
    • Sensor Overview: Access detailed sensor data, including real-time readings and battery status, through the sensor overview menu.
    • Graphical Overview: Visualize tank levels with graphical representations on the GX device itself for quick and easy interpretation of the data.
    • VRM Dashboard: Monitor your tank levels remotely via the Victron Remote Management (VRM) online platform, which provides a comprehensive dashboard of your system’s performance.
    • Advanced Menu Widgets: Use the VRM’s advanced menu widgets to create custom displays and controls tailored to your monitoring preferences.
    • Mobile App Widgets: Utilize the VRM app on your smartphone or tablet to get on-the-go updates on tank levels, ensuring you’re always informed no matter where you are.

These monitoring options offer convenience and flexibility, allowing for both on-site and remote supervision of your tank levels.
