I have two Victron Multi Plus II 5k V DC inverters connected as spit-phase with an MPPT controller, Lynx Shut, and a Lynx Distribution unit. Two SOK 48V batteries (without a display) are connected. I want to add an EEL LiFePO4 48V battery box. I plan on using a modified Lynx Power-In unit so I can add two MEGA 100 amp fuse for the SOK and EEL battery connections. Once I shut down the inverters and all is connected will I need to per-charge the inverters before all is up and running? Thanks for your response!

Pre-charging is always a good idea for bigger systems. It is generally required by battery manufacturers and would be indicated in their manual – normally if the battery is equipped with a pre-charge circuit.

When adding batteries that are compatible with each other, make sure to charge them up to +/- 0.5V difference of each other, before connecting them in parallel, to prevent high balancing currents.

A resistor can be used to precharge a system, in order to prevent the high inrush currents from inverters and other DC components
