  When should I update the Firmware of my Victron Multiplus-II Inverter?

  I’m not sure about when to update my Victron Multiplus-II Inverter’s firmware and how to go about it. Could you provide some guidance?

  Firmware updates for Victron equipment don’t need to be constant. Stable systems can stay on their current firmware. Generally, you’d consider an update during initial installation, for troubleshooting, or to add a necessary new feature.

  Remember, firmware updates reset all settings to factory defaults, so be prepared for that.

  The update process is pretty straightforward: connect to the unit, enter the settings, and select ‘Product Info’ to start the update.

  No internet connection is needed as VictronConnect comes with the latest firmware versions. Just make sure not to interrupt the process once it’s started.

  NOTE: updating the Cerbo GX device’s firmware does not reset its settings.
